DEVELCO

More than an alternative to batteries

At Develco, we keep a close eye on TEGnology’s product development.

We will certainly consider using a TEGnology solution as a supplement to or instead of ordinary batteries for clients for whom we develop IoT solutions.

To ensure a difference in temperatures, which TEGnology needs in order to harvest energy, we will need to optimize application and assembly of our IoT solution. However, TEGnology will be useful especially in certain industrial environments.

TEGnology is not only an alternative to batteries, it may even be the driving force in establishing IoT projects in areas where access makes it impossible to replace batteries.

We look forward to collaborating on the first projects.

ZIGPOS

Gaining competitive advantage

ZigPos develops IIoT tracking solutions for production applications. The ZigPos real-time localization system is a wireless sensor network that enables highly accurate location-based applications in GPS inaccessible areas. The wireless localization system consists of mobile and fixed sensor devices. Mini PCs control the network and provide both applications and interfaces centrally. With less than 100 mW power, they can be operated by battery, PoE, µUSB or DC.

The cable installation for the satellites and gateways can cost up to € 1,000 per product and the battery lifetime is as low as 1-2 months. Thus, non-wired variants come with a rechargeable battery and require regular maintenance. Replacing the need for cable installations or regular exchange of rechargeable batteries would mean a significant competitive advantage for ZigPos.

After conducting a successful validation, ZigPos started a design phase with TEGnology to development a customized version of the SensEver Alfa power supply line.

EUDP PROJECT

District Heating Sensor Power

TEGnology has entered into a development agreement with Grundfos, Danish Technological Institute and ReMoni, to develop a digital solution for monitoring underground district heating pipelines. The project began on Nov. 1, 2021, and is supported by the Danish Energy Agency under the EUDP program.

The International Energy Agency (IEA) has documented that 40 percent of solutions to the 2050 goals of the Paris Agreement come from energy efficiency. And “we already have the solutions to tackle the climate crisis,” wrote Brian Vad Mathiesen, Professor at Aalborg University, and Peter Trillingsgaard of Grundfos in an article in the Danish media Altinget:

According to the article, the key to increase overall energy efficiency is to use district heating to link different industrial and civil sectors. Furthermore, by decreasing the temperature we increase the energy transportation efficiency in district heating pipeline networks.
